Yorkshire Wolds Railway
The Yorkshire Wolds Railway is a fully volunteer-run, charity-registered heritage railway right in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds at Fimber Halt.
Why not come and visit to enjoy a ride in our fully restored brake van along our ¼ mile of track? You can even stand outside on the veranda to really enjoy the views – or simply enjoy the sounds of our locomotive “Sir Tatton Sykes” as it makes its way along the rails.
Our visitor centre is set inside a cosmetically restored British Rail MK1 coach and contains lots of photographs and artefacts on how the line used to be whilst showing the journey right up to the present day. The YWR will be running trains* and opening the visitor centre every Sunday and bank holiday from 6th April until the end of October and every Wednesday during school holidays from 10 am – 4 pm.
The visitor centre only will be open every Wednesday from 9 April until the end of October from 10 am – 4 pm.
Visit us and enjoy a train ride, see the ongoing restoration works, spend time in the visitor centre, or visit our shop for tea and coffee.
*All trains run subject to availability
